A member asked:

What is the name of the test that an allergist would run to determine if one is th1 or th2 responsive? also, can this test be run by a pcp?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not that simple: Th1 and th2 are generalized immunologic responses rather than specific reactions. So that responses to antigens are predominantly, but often not exclusively one or the other. Normal immunologic status requires balanced combinations of both responses. The total absence on one or the other will result in a major immunologic deficiency.
