Maybe zinc poisoning: As you know well, fixodent is a denture adhesive, and gentle glue which holds the denture in place, but not sticking to the gum. There have been report of zinc toxicity from excessive zinc being absorbed causing some nerve damage, but i believe procter-gamble had the formulation re-done to reduce this possibility. Other than that, fixodent is quite safe..Consult doc. Good luck.

Bad function: I assume you have a full denture. Fixodent and other dental adhesives are not meant to hold a poorly fitting denture in position, but to make a well-fitting denture stay in more securely. If you need more then a little, you need your denture looked at for a relining or a remake. You'll eat better!

Use zinc free: Using a denture adhesive is not uncommon if not for the confidence in a secure plate. Excess material can be messy, difficult to remove, and irritating to gums. Inflammed gums can lead to some infections, cause some lesions, and contribute to ill-fitting dentures. Recently it has been shown that the zinc in the adhesive lead to some neurologic problems. Material recalled.
