Hives: Allergy shots are not recommended for hives. Itchy bumps sound like hives which can be caused by a variety of things such as infections, allergies, autoimmune illnesses, hormonal issues and hereditary problems. Allergy shots are reserved for hay fever and asthma - respiratory type problems. Hives can be treated with antihistamines and other types of pills.

Questionably allergy: I assume you mean hives. Hives may or may not be allergy. Hives occurring more than 4 weeks are considered chronic and usually are not due to allergy. Ii don't know what you mean by allergy shots. For an allergist, allergy shots are desnsitisation, vaccinating against what one is allergic to. If the injections are long-acting steroids (kenalog, depotmedrol), then you should see an allergist.
