Be patient!: It is difficult to know exactly when puberty's onset takes place. These changes usually occur gradually over a period of time. Puberty signals specific stages of development that boys go through when developing secondary sexual characteristics. Onset for boys averages at 11-12 yrs with completion by 16-17 yrs. Your son is a later bloomer and i will likely be your height (assuming mom is ave. Ht.).

Depends: You have to consider the height of the parents and your child's rate of growth. If this has been normal over the years and he has not crossed percentiles down on the growth chart he is probably fine. Also if you grew latter, as in constitutional growth delay, your child will likely grow the same way. Check with his doc and look at his growth charts.
