Other bugs: There are other infections that cause pid besides gonorrhea and chlamydia. Mycoplasm, tuberculosis, and vaginal streptococcus infections can cause this too. The overwhelming majority though are caused by sexually transmitted infections of chlamydia. Gonorrhea is the next most common. The other causes are much less common. Stress is unrelated as these are caused by an infection from an organism.
