Not Serious: Although elevated, this is not bad.Could be from a viral infection or medicine reaction.Check with your doctor.

Not liver!: If their is an issue with the liver, SGPT is the canary in the cage and is more likely to be elevated, and to a greater extent compared with sgot. Also, SGPT comes from the liver only. Sgot being elevated, with a normal SGPT usually means it is not liver! the reason: SGOT comes from muscle as well as liver. I have many patients with this coupling of increased SGOT and normal sgpt. It is muscle!
