Cause?: An enlarged liver can push on the diaphragm (muscle below the lungs) causing shortness of breath. It can push on the bowels and cause problems with bowel movements. A liver may be enlarged for a number of reasons including toxins such as alcohol, a fatty liver (nash/nafld), etc. These may increase the risk of cirrhosis and liver cancer.
