See below: So, zyrtec (cetirizine) is safe in hypertension and diabetes. However, zyrtec (cetirizine) does not treat infection. It treats allergies so if the sinusitis is allergic, that will help or if you have other allergy triggers, it can help. Most sinus infections are allergic or viral and they get better on their own. Only a minority are bacterial and require antibiotics.

I would not: Zyrtec can clog the nose up when you have an infection and you want to open the nose to allow it to drain. I would not use zyrtec. Instead i would use Mucinex (guaifenesin) but not Mucinex (guaifenesin) d which can raise blood pressure. A humidifier or vaporizer can be helpful but keep it clean so it does not brew mold.
