Fear of humiliation: A persistent fear of social or performance situations in which a person fears negative evaluation by others. Such individuals fear that they will act in such a way as to humiliate or embarrass themselves.

Excessive anxiety: Social phobia is a strong fear of being judged by others and of being embarrassed. This fear can be so strong that it gets in the way of going to work or school or doing other everyday things. Most people with social phobia know they shouldn't experience so much anxiety, but they can't control it.

Social anxiety: Anxiety in social situations, in public places, when interacting with people, fear of embarrassing self, making mistakes in front of others. This fear and anxiety is overwhelming. The intensity varies ranging from being incapacitating and person goes at great length to avoid social situations and in its simplest form it could be only performance anxiety or stage fright and not as incapacitating.
