Its part of a CBC...: Eosinophil count is usually performed as part of a CBC (blood test). It indicates an allergic condition for the most part, but can be elevated in other conditions such as asthma, drug allergies, infection, blood cancers (hodgkin's disease), lupus, and skin allergic diseases. If your count is high, go see your doctor for further testing.

White bloodcell type: There are several different types of white blood cells. Eosinophils are the type that are often associated with allergies or allergic responses. The count is simply the percentage (or number per 100) of eosinophils seen on a blood count.
