I accidentally cut myself at work. how can i make sure it doesn't get infected?

Crack out the glue: Anti-bacterial ointment and a band aide will work, but if that is not available then in a tough pinch and depending on the severity of the cut, grab some crazy glue, as silly as this sounds the component in it is basically the same as a liquid band-aide or barrier film, so clean the cut with water and apply some glue if no band aide and ointment are available.
