Swollen gums: Swollen gums occurs when there is some sort of problem in the underlying tissue. This could be the result of an infection do you have pain? Is the swelling red, white or normal gum color (pink). Would be good idea to have your dentist do an exam.

Swollen gums: Gum swellin results from an irritation either in or below the gum tissue usually from an infection. I would advise you to see your localdentist now!

Infection of the gum: Gum swelling means there is infection going on either as a result of periodontal disease or an abcessed tooth. If you are experiencing swelling, see your dentist for treatment. Oral infections are detremental to your health.

Puffy and/or red: Gum tissue in health should be pink and firm (there are some variations for race etc.) gums that are puffy, bleed on brushing or flossing and inflammed and swollen. Untreated gum swelling can lead to all types of medical issues. If your gums are swollen they are sick and you need to see your dentist aasap.
