Indication?: All benzodiazepines are controlled substances and should be taken as prescribed or needed per direction of a physician. For anxiety disorders, the fda max dose per day is 4mg. When used for seizures, the max dose is much higher and irrelevant in this case.

DEPENDS: Depends on what it is used for. For seizures the dose is rather high and gets monitored like 20 mg a day. For anxiety much less that this like 4-6 mg a day. Of course there must be a build up as you can have respiratory issues with too much of a benzodiazepine. Speak with you doctor for the proper dosage.
