Doubt always same: HSV1 is not a finding we see causing a skin breakout on a 6 wk old's bottom. It would only get there through sexual abuse or if passed by an infected mother during childbirth. When that occurs, it causes a horrendous problem for the infant that may be fatal. If you have a + swab on your bottom for HSV, which is a common STD, you should pursue medication to control outbreaks.
