My tongue is very painful underneath on the left side. there are no bumps just a low pain constantly, then increased pain if i move my tongue or try?

Tongue pain: It can either you injured or burned the tongue somehow hot pizza is common or a possible viral illness. Another possibility is the pain is being broadcast onto that area from another area of the throat. Pain on the inside is vague and dull and sometimes does not correspond to where you feel it. That is why a thorough head and neck exam is important.

See a dentist: Pain means something is wrong. There is a major salivary gland that sits on each side below the tongue. It could be a clogged salivary duct or a calcification in the gland. It could also be a muscular problem. Go see a dentist for evaluation and diagnosis.

Apthous ulcers: There are some minor ulcers that can appear in soft tissue areas- however, one should always follow-up when pain appears because pain is not a common situation- you should see a dds/dmd at your earliest convenience.
