How does puberty affect your skin?

Oily skin and acne: Both males and females have increased testosterone during puberty which causes excessive sebum production which then plugs up the pores forming comedones (whiteheads, blackheads). These can become inflamed and infected with bacteria and form papules and pustules (pimples and zits). End result is oilier skin and acne breakouts, acne scarring, larger pores, and hair growth.
