Can see inside joint: A fiberoptic camera and small instruments can be placed inside the hip joint using small incisions. Can be used to deb ride the hip joint or even fix some labral tears.

Akin to knee scope: Arthroscopy of any joint, hip included, involves placing a fiber optic camera into the joint. The joint is accessed via multiple small 1 CM incisions (portals). While viewing through one portal various surgical instruments help diagnose and treat any problems found inside the joint. Hip arthroscopy, unlike shoulder & knee, requires significant traction to open the joint for viewing the joint.
