Wondering if it's bad to have a hip scope, which is a minimally invasive surgery, during the first few weeks of pregnancy?

2 nd trimester. : First few weeks if pregnancy is the time of organogenesis. Elective, nessasary surgeries if possiable are delayed for 2 nd trimester. If you need this surgery now concider local or spinal anesthesia. Discussion between you, surgeon and obstetrician is the best way to start.

Better to avoid: In general, it is better to avoid surgery during pregnancy unless they are absolutely needed. There are risks to both the mother and the baby that are best avoided if possible.
