A member asked:

Can i tan over stretch marks? is it safe to tan skin with stretch marks? will it make the stretch marks less noticeable?

Yes, but no: Stretch marks are tears in the skin cause by weight gain. They can be covered up, but not improved by creams and lotions. The only possibly effective therapy is cosmetic plastic surgery, but that's a big step for a non-health and non-life threatening problem. Tanning may cover them up, but may also make them look more prominent as they may tan differently than the other skin.

See answer: In general, tanning is not recommended as sun exposure increases your risk of skin cancer. You should use spf of at least 15 or above. If you do tan, the stretch marks may become more visible.
