Possibly: Some antibiotics taken for acne like the tetracyclines or Clindamycin may be protective against impetigo but they may be taken in low dose that would be less effective in this regard.

I am already on acne antibiotic gels, i would like to know of a medicine to use on already started pimples, to reduce them (apart from preventing).
I have had severe acne and i couldnt take accutane . Before that i took antibiotics with a topical but i didnt quite work. So i got prescribed tretoinin cream. My acne cleared in just 2 months. Does tablets prevent scaring better or is it timed based?
