Maybe: The medical word for "blue lips" is central cyanosis. This means low oxygen in the blood. That can be do to a pulmonary disorder but there are also some cardiac conditions that can result in central cyanosis such as right to left shunt.

Possibly: Blue lips are typical for low oxygen levels and is known as cyanosis. This can occur with emphysema, lung cancer, pneumonia and other illnesses. Heart disease can sometimes be associated with blue lips as well.

Blue lips=MD visit: Blue (cyanotic) lips are never a good sign. There can be heart or lung disease, but regardless of the cause, make you get it checked out as soon as possible!
