Heart Dr. can check: While playing sports, a person could faint for several reasons. He could be overheated or maybe was not drinking enough fluids. In those two situations, he will feel faint while standing or when quickly rising to a standing position. He could have a heart malformation or an abnormal heart rhythm. In these two situations, the symptoms may occur more randomly. A cardiologist's evaluation is helpful.

Exertional Syncopy: Biggest concern is to rule out a heart rate and rhythm issue and to evaluate for the most common cause of sudden death in athletes in the us, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. First rule these out with an ekg, holter monitor and heart echo. Other issues can involve hydration, electrolytes, sugar, or autonomic nerve problems which can effect your blood pressure and nutritional delivery to the brain.
