Probably safe: As a category c drug, it has not been found in human studies to cause problems with fetal development but not enough data is present to classify it in a safer category. During lactation, levels are unlikely to cause problems but it may impart a bitter taste & lead to rejection of the milk. See: hall t ;medications and mothers milk, 15 ed.2012, p116.
