?hot flashes/ may be: Hot flashes can persist for several years after the menopause. If these are bothering you, go see your gynecologiat ..Perhaps a short course of hormones would be needed if the hot flashes wake you upo at night or make you too uncomfortable during the day.

Vasodilation.: Redness when perspiring is usually caused by vasodilation in the area. This is how the body cools off. The burning may be from the salt in your sweat.
