Psychological Help: Yes, alone or with medications, psychological help is very effective for several mental health conditions. This psychological help can be from your primary care provider or a psychologist or both. With proper counselling, patients tend to feel better sooner and for longer periods of time.

Yes, unless someone: Seeks help under duress and has no intention of taking that help. Oddly enough even then some folks relent and actually benefit from the therapy. That occurs quite often in drug and alcohol programs where people are forced into treatment legally.

Yes: I am a huge fan of psychological treatment. I often find people in very intense and stressful personal circumstances expect a magic cure from anti-depressants, but a pill can't cure a bad boss, friendship, maritial problems, etc. The benefit of augmenting any medical treatment with a caring advocate who can help you see clearly through solutions depression itself often clouds can be key!
