No: We call that pulsatile tinnitus. It is not "normal, " but may not be anything serious. It may just be some fluid on the ear. If it persists for more than a week, or is accompanied by any other symptoms like hearing loss, drainage from the ear, facial weakness, etc get it checked out by your local ent. Best wishes!

Not usually: Occasionally it is normal to "hear your heartbeat." if it occurs only once in a while it is probably not a concern. Pulsing in the ear, also known as pulsatile tinnitus, that continues and persists is something for you to check out with an ENT doctor. Often it can be due to wax in the ear or even fluid. If it bothers you, get it looked at.
