A member asked:

How often will i need an ultrasound while pregnant? what is the usual timing and frequency of ultrasounds during pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: Different docs may have different preferences based on your age/other potential risk factors. In an average low risk pregnancy, an initial us is performed at 11-14 weeks to check the nuchal translucency. Then routine anatomy and screening us is performed between 18 and 22 weeks. If all is normal, this may be all. Additional us may be necessary if there are other issues like ? Size, fluid, etc.
