Yes: Some natural supplements may be helpful including quercitin which a natural histamine inhibitor. Stinging nettle and goldenseal have been used for allergic rhinitis. Also, the probiotic lactobacillus acidophilus and omega 3 fatty acids may be helpful as a preventive.

Not proven effective: No "alternative medications" have been proven better or safer than common over the counter meds for allergies. Claritin is a better antihistamine than any "alternative" could be, and Claritin doesn't cause side effects in most users. "alternatives" that are from plants may cause allergies in persons already allergic to foods, plants, or pollens. Over the counter nasal saline spray/rinse can help.
