Check with your MD: I would not recommend a body cleanse if you are going through an acute illness (such as the flu or other febrile illness), when you are debilitated, or if you are not well-nourished. Cleanses may be depleting if not done correctly.

Body Cleanse: I agree with Dr. Porter. Thorough cleanses can release many toxins into the blood stream. That may cause someone who is ill or who has a degraded immune system to become even more ill. If done improperly, a body cleanse may in some situations do more harm than good. Check with your doctor. Insure that the cleanse is MEDICALLY SOUND. Be well.
