What are the effects of lymphoma treatment in pregnancy?

7 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

It depends: The treatment of lymphoma depends on the type (hodgkin's vs non-hodgkin's) and stage, and can include chemotherapy and/or radiation. After the first trimester, and avoiding radiation, it is possible to limit toxicity to the fetus, but your team should include your cancer doctors (hematologist/oncologist), your obstetrician and a pediatrician specializing in neonatology (care of newborns).

Depends: Depends on the type of lymphoma, ome are very aggressive, some are not, most chemotherapies cause harm to you and the fetus. Now we have long term data recently presented on a large meeting about chmotherapies while pregnant. You need expert openion, you can also google this topic.
