Yes: Tylenol (acetaminophen) is usually adequate for a post concussion headache. I prefer it to nsaids like advil. Sometimes, i see patients with bleeding around the brain after a concussion. Advil can make this worse.

Yes: At the beginning of injury most use nsaids (naproxen, ibuprofen, etc) or acetaminophen. For moderate to severe headaches from concussion which last 4 or more weeks other prescription medications, such as amantadine, can be used. Headaches from concussion are often worse in people who have prior history of migraines. Work with your doctor to develop a concussion treatment plan.
