Depends: Agree with Dr. B. However our blood gets infected everyday. When you brush your teeth, bacterial enter the blood stream. In a healthy person this is take care of without difficulty. If a person has underlying disease, heart valve defects or overwhelming infection, it can result in illness. We all carry viruses in our blood like CMV and EBV.
