CertainDri or Botox: Antiperspirants containing aluminum chloride (ie: certaindri, drysol) help control sweating. Botox injections help with excessive sweating especially on the palms, soles, and armpits. The injections can be painful but the effects last about 9 months.

Surgery might help: Surgery might help those patients with hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating of the palms and arm pits, and who fail maximum medical management as described the previous answer. Surgery involves minimally invasive snipping of sympathetic nerve fibers in the chest that control sweating. It is called vats sympathicotomy, and is usually an outpatient procedure.

Botox Can Help: Hyperhidrosis (or excess sweating) is more common than you'd think! antiperspirants are the simple answer, but often won't work with true hyperhidrosis. I have had success treating patients underarms, hands, feet, forehead, and scalp with botox. Botox is fda approved for sweating and is very safe and effective. Botox typically lasts for 6 months when used for excess sweating. Hope this helps!

Excessive sweating: Avoid alcohol, wear loose clothing, don't smoke, don't eat spicy food. Drink lots of water. When exercising, expect sweating but stay in a cooler environment if possible until the sweating stops.
