A member asked:

Can cocaine make you violent?

9 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

Yes.: Sadly, Cocaine (or the pursuit of cocaine) has the potential to make anyone act violently. The people the violence is targeted at are often the people closest to the Cocaine user - their spouse and their kids. Children are often victims of the Cocaine user's violence.

Yes: Cocaine can cause aggression, increased anger, paranoia and even frank psychosis with delusions and hallucinations. Violence is common with all stimulants, including cocaine, amphetamines and especially methamphetamine. Bath salts, which are also stimulants, have especially been associated with extreme violence in some people. If this is happening to you, get help from your doctor or counselor.
