Done by a doctor: Physical exam is the actual examination of the patient's body by the physician. For example, if you sprain your ankle and go to your doctor, he will physically touch your ankle to see where it is painful. This act of touching the patient's body is the physical examination.

Exams: There is no real physical exam that i know of! every doctor is different. For women it might include a breast exam and pelvic exam but for a guy ? It could also just be a examination of the heart and lungs or even check out the feet.
