Its a conduit: A stent is a straw-like device that allows blood to pass through a blocked or clogged vessel. If its in the arteries that feed the heart (coronary arteries), then you may need a medication call Plavix (clopidogrel) to cement the stent into the vessel. It can clog up, so an annual visit to the heart doctor is necessary.
