Uterine fibroid: A leiomyomata(fibroid) is a smooth muscle growth in the uterus that is rubbery, binds the female hormone estrogen and can grow to "epic" proportions causing distortion of the uterus. They cause bleeding, and burning pain( aka "fireball tumor") as well as pelvic pressure.
