Only your child's doctor can confirm whether this drug is safe for the child, due to possible interactions with other drugs, and conditions the child has, etc. If this Benzonatate is not prescribed for this child in question, please don't give it to him/her.

No: In the us the drug is indicated for use in children aged 10 and above. It is probably best to avoid its use in an eight year old.
