Decreases issues: A lot of asthma is caused by irritation of the airways and release of inflammatory hormones. When the lungs are not exercised and taxed, the muscles in the airways become "soft" like any non-exercised muscle. When you go to exercise, they release these inflammatory hormones, exacerbating asthma. If you do light cardio, you work out these muscles, improving their endurance and lessening issues.
