Possibly: The defect in gastroschesis varies in its complexity so outcome depends on multiple variables.If dx'd prenatally & delivered c/s in an advanced center, complications may be minimized & outcome improved.The defect arises between midline abdominal muscles & does't usually hurt them, over time the kid may grow up with an interesting scar & few limitations.Repeted surgeries & scaring may cause limits.

No: Patients should have a normal life after repair of gastroschisis.

No: Assuming your son has had a complete repair of his abdominal wall defect, life should be normal including his ability to participate in sports and lift weights, etc.
