Daughter has asthma, do i need to get rid of pets?

If she's allergic: Children with asthma who are allergic to pets should have minimal exposure to them (preferably the pet will not live in the house with the child). However, there is no reason that a child with asthma should avoid a cat or dog if they are not allergic to cats or dogs. Skin tests or a simple lab test can help diagnose cat or dog allergy.

Possibly: It would be a good idea to have her tested for allergies to the pets. If allergic, the best practice is to remove the allergen (pet). There are also ways to lessen the exposure to the animal (don't allow in bedroom; limit direct contact), but this won't eliminate the allergen. If she is not allergic to your pets there would be no reason to get rid of them.
