Complicated: That is so complicated and amazing that it is hard to explain or understand. Cells divide and become specialized so that some form muscle, others valves, others nerves and so forth. The heart starts as a simple tube whcih bends and some of the cells become specialized to produce a valve.

Complicated: The cardiac cushions in the atrioventricular (av) canal contain cells that are the primordia of the cardiac valves. The atrioventricular valves are attached to papillary muscles by chordae tendineae.
