Varies: Heart rate less than 60 beats per minute is a simplified definition of bradycardia. For youngsters in good shape normal heart rate can be in the 40s and 50s (sometimes even in the 30s for highly competitive athletes such as boris becker). On the other hand heart rate in the 60 to 70 range may be slow in certain older, overweight or out-of-shape individuals.
