Yes: Ischemia refers to inadequate blood flow to the heart or other organs. Various techniques such as angioplasty and stents or surgical bypass operations can increase blood flow. Drugs like statins can slow the progression of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). Drugs like Aspirin can decrease the risk of blood clots forming on the walls of rough or narrowed arteries.

Generally: But can be ischemia is caused by low or inadequate blood flow and oxygen delivery to a tissue: heart attack stroke amputation renal failure are sequellae of ischemia. Not all die if the blockage can be expanded with angioplasty, or bypassed, the ischemia has been treated.
