No: Given safely in standard amounts Dobutamine is safe. Like any medication, it has the potential for side effects (particularly at higher doses) which can include myocardial ischemia and life threatening arrythmias. Dobutamine stimulates heart muscle causing it wo work harder and is used, among other things, to treat congestive heart failure and to perform certain types of stress tests.
