Can someone live with cardiomyopathy?

Yes: Yes, it all depends on the type of cardiomyopathy, its severity, and one's co-morbid medical problems. With proper follow-up, medications, and adherence to medical recommendations, cardiomyopathy may be manageable.

Cardiomyopathy: Cardiomyopathy can be dilated or hypertrophic and both are compatible with a reasonable length of life. We have treatment for dilated cardiomyopathy and the hypertrophic/infiltrative type is less effectively treated.
