Symptoms!: Cardiomyopathy implies contractile issues with the heart muscle. It can be due to viral infection, hypertension, diabetes, previous heart attacks. Since the ability to pump blood is compromised, the usual symptoms iclude shortness of breath and diminished exercise or physical capacity. Edema of the lower extremities may occur.
