When can someone start cardiac rehab?

See below: Patients can start cardiac rehab about 4 weeks after coronary bypass surgery or valve replacement or myocardial infarction (heart attack). After stent placement without heart damage 2 weeks is about right. A treadmill stress test is done before starting rehab to assess the exercise prescription and absence of ischemia (poor circulation).
