A female asked:
How is the skin prepped before a chemical peel? what is the process that a spa takes your skin through prior to a chemical peel in order to get it ready for the treatment?

The : The skin is cleansed and de-oiled prior to any skin resurfacing procedure. Prior to procedures involving skin resurfacing i place patients on medication to prevent a herpes breakout, to increase the "turn over" process of skin cells (retin a) to promote healing, and to prevent pigment changes. Make sure that the procedure is being done by a trained medical person because skin resurfacing can lead to pigment changes and scaring if not done properly.
