How long should you wait to have knee surgery after having a cortisone shot ? i am thinking of have knee replacement surgery and i had a cortisone shot 2 months ago, i need to know if this is enough time to wait.

I : I usually wait at least six weeks, but i prefer 12weeks before having a knee replacement.

It : It really depends on the surgeon. Some will replace your joint as soon as six weeks after a cortisone, but many like to wait for a total of 12 weeks.
